Comments: Hillman is being ridiculous about who was in the band called the Byrds. He continues to limit the Byrds to the 5 origonal members or claim that the legal ownership of the group determined who the members were. That is absurd. What matters is who was actually in the band, played on stage as the Byrds with McGuinn, who was on the recordings, etc. And if he believes that Monterey was a good performance by the Byrds, I suppose he has a bridge in Brooklyn for sale. I wonder if it was true as Sneaky Pete claimed, that Hillman and Gram Parsons were thinking of replacing McGuinn around the time of the Sweetheart album? If that is true, I wonder if Hillman recalls that.
